The purpose of this fraternity shall be to cultivate and maintain the high ideals of friendship, justice, and learning upon which Sigma Chi was founded.

Description of Special Events
| Our largest philanthropy of the year is Derby Days. This is a week long competition between the sororities at Iowa State solely for the purpose of raising money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. 100% of the proceeds from this fun filled week with a purpose go towards the institute. |
