Academic - Ag & Life Sciences Academic - LAS Service & Volunteerism Special Interest

The main purpose of this organization is to promote constructive use of our natural resources through land, water, wildlife, and energy management practices to collectively help balance our ecosystem focusing on the state of Iowa through the students of ISU. Students involved in this club will get hands-on with various projects including invasive species removal, native plantings, construction of bat and bird boxes, travelling to private lands for conservation land management analysis, volunteering locally on private and public lands, and other member project ideas. Our main goal is to involve as many students as possible within the club by not focusing on only one specific area of conservation. All ideas are welcome!

Go over updates and discuss upcoming events while also generating new ideas for activities. We have very informal meetings where we play games, talk about endangered species and plan weekend outings whether they be fishing trips or nature hikes.

Description of Special Events

Camping Trips: We will try to have at least one camping trip per semester open to all club members. Location changes every semester but trip will usually be over a weekend with a one or two night stay.
