Fishing Club Header
The Fishing Club at Iowa State University looks to engage with students and the community who enjoy fishing. We are a diverse group of avid fishermen who enjoy targeting many species. Aside from monthly meetings, we spend time fishing the local area, learning how to target different bodies of water, and taking trips to popular lakes and rivers to catch various fish species. The Fishing Club provides online tournaments for members who wish to get out and fish on their own while having the chance to win prizes. Throughout the winter, members ice fish together and go up north for fly fishing, along with attending conferences. We are associated with MLF and BASS, two major league bass fishing organizations. Some members participate in tournaments through these organizations. The Fishing Club also partners with local businesses to educate the public about fishing, and we have a wide range of sponsors to which each member has access to discounts on fishing gear.

Fishing Club Meeting + Officer Elections!

Hello,

The Fishing Club will be hosting our last meeting of the year this Wednesday from 6:30-8pm in Science Hall 2, room 202. The meeting agenda will include bait making, followed by a recap of the Diawa order, and officer elections to finish!

Here is a brief overview of the officer positions and what they entail. Almost every position has a current student who is graduating, so they will all be open!

President: The president conducts meetings, organizes outings for the club, trips, apparel, and ensures the club is in good standing with Student Government.

Vice President: The VP helps the president when needed. In the past I have had the VP organize jersey orders and help with apparel when needed.

Treasurer: The treasurer handles all club funds and is in charge of maintaining good standing with the club accounting.

Secretary: The secretary handles all sponsorships. Their main job is to email all of our sponsors at the beginning of the year to thank them for their support and ask for continued support. They also are in charge of acquiring new sponsors and distributing codes to members.
Social Media: As it sounds, social media is in charge of the club Instagram account. Taking pictures and posting pictures to showcase club activities and thank sponsors.

Please let me know if you have any questions over the officer positions!

I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting Wednesday!
