BCBGSO will provide opportunities for social interactions between graduate students and faculties in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) program in order to increase interdepartmental communication within the BCB program and provide a forum for exchange of scientific information. BCBGSO will also provide opportunities for graduate students in the BCB program to engage in research, education, and career-development activities.

Elections/Selection Election for President takes place between the 2nd and 3rd Student Body Meeting of the year. All other officers are selected by the newly elected President.
Meetings 4 Student Body Meetings: Early Fall Semester, Late Fall Semester, Early Spring Semester, and Late Spring Semester. Meeting announcement will be sent through e-mail.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Weekly or monthly meetings of the Board of Directors, and monthly meetings of the BCB student body.

Description of Special Events

BCBGSO Workshops: Open to all graduate students. Topics may include basic UNIX, advanced UNIX, and Python coding.
BCBGSO Symposium: Open to BCB students to reinforce BCB coherence and professional development.
