Description

If you love swimming and want to challenge yourself, you should join the Iowa State Swim Club! This club is a great way to meet other swimmers, improve your skills, and compete in local and regional events. Throughout the whole school year, the club fosters a competitive environment while also allowing students to focus on their studies. You can choose from different practice times and locations that suit your schedule and preferences. The clubs dedicated coaches facilitate several practices each week. You will have the opportunity to participate in various meets throughout the year, such as dual meets/invites, Central Regionals, and College Club Swimming Nationals. The club is run by a student board who are responsible for managing the budget, communicating with other clubs and organizations, and planning fun and engaging events for members. The club welcomes swimmers with any history in swimming. Whether you are here to win races or just stay in shape, you will find a place in the Iowa State Swim Club. Allowed Members Student or staff enrolled at Iowa State University.
Allowed Officers Official club members who chose to run for an officer position.
Membership Qualifications To join our club, you must have some history of training and/or competing in a water related sport (swimming, water polo, triathlons, etc...). You must also be able to effectively swim one of the four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, butterfly) legally and circle swim in a lane with multiple other swimmers.
Membership Restrictions This is not swimming lessons. This club will not teach you how to survive in water, but rather train you for efficient swimming.
Elections/Selection President's term is one year. Elections are held whenever a board member chooses to step down as well as the first week of April each year. Elections are based on a majority team vote.
Meetings We have twice monthly meetings for officers and at least one team meeting per semester.
