The Recreational Team is open to all players, regardless of skill level or experience, while there is a Competitive Team for more experienced players (tryouts required for Comp. only).
Online waivers must be completed to attend official practices!
Fall practice location and start date:
- Location: Ames High School Tennis Facility (2005 24th St, Ames, IA 50010)
- Time: 5-7 pm
- Dates: August 25th-October 16th (weather dependent)
- Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
Unofficial practice schedule:
- Week 1: August 25th and 27th 5-7pm
- Week 2: September 3rd and 4th 5-7pm
- Week 3: September 8th and 10th 5-7pm
Tryouts for the competitive team:
We have both a recreation and competitive team as described above. If you are interested in being on the competitive team, we will be holding tryouts on the following days:
- September 11th and 14th: Men's
- September 15th: Women's
Following tryouts, we will be holding practices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (as described above) from 5-7 pm. Practices are open to anyone that has signed the waiver in our stu org and paid dues.

Anyone interested in joining the tennis club and attending practices needs to have their waiver signed. Below are instructions on how to access and sign the waiver
1. Go to the stu org website: https://www.stuorg.iastate.edu/tennisclub
2. Go to the upper right hand corner and click on "Account"
3. Click on "Profile" and find Tennis Club
4. On the right hand column, you will see a link to click on the waiver
