Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

The Vine and Wine Club will meet once per month during the fall and spring semesters (about 4 meetings per semester). We will focus on vines and viticulture for two meetings and wine and enology for the other two meetings.

Description of Special Events

During the two wine-focused meetings each semester, the Club will hire ISU Catering to supply wines for members to taste and evaluate. The purpose of these meetings is to develop and practice skills involving sensory analysis in the context of wine style and quality. ISU Catering will source and serve the wine in the Culinary Discovery Lab (FSB 2379). All participants' IDs will be checked to ensure they are 21 or older for each event.
Once per semester, the Club will rent a vehicle(s) from ISU Transportation Services and travel to an Iowa winery to learn about their vineyard and winemaking practices.
