Grad Mixer Club at Iowa State University is dedicated to strengthening connections among graduate students and fostering interdisciplinary engagement across academic and professional communities. The organization provides a welcoming forum where graduate students can exchange ideas, present research, and share academic and personal interests in a supportive environment.
The club promotes intellectual exchange, collaboration, and community-building among graduate students, faculty, staff, and members of the broader graduate community. | Elections/Selection |
The term of office will be one year for all officers. Officers are elected in the Spring semester to be in office by the first of May. Elections are to be a simple majority vote of all members, not including abstainers, and shall take place by the middle of April. Any member meeting the requirements for officers are free to nominate themselves and officers from previous years are free to be re-elected as long as they continue to meet the requirements to be an officer. |
| Meetings |
The Grad Mixer Club meets regularly with weekly general meetings. Other subcommittee meetings are scheduled as necessary. Additional events are planned, and occur about several times a semester. Meetings generally occur Microsoft Teams. If meeting spaces need to be reserved then the president and vice president schedule the space for the general meetings and events. They contact the advisor when needed to schedule university spaces. Executive board meetings are held weekly on Monday at 5:30-6:15 PM CST. |
