What is the At-Large Committee? 

We work together as a collaborative team to make our events possible and fuel the Exercise is medicine movement. We welcome anyone passionate about the EIM initiative to reach out and get involved. There are many opportunities to get involved and gain leadership. Being involved with the at-large allows you to 

  • Coordinate and/or lead ExerCYse Time or other volunteering events
  • Plan fundraisers and philanthropy
  • Volunteer at community and campus events
  • Attend leadership team meetings

Although the current positions are filled, we encourage you to get involved in EIM to be considered for a future At-Large position and gain leadership. 

The chair positions include the following: marketing, fundraising, risk management, media relations, merchandise, and newsletter.

Emma Desmet: Co-Fundraising Chair

 

Leah Becker: Co-Fundraising Chair

Leah Becker is from Jesup, Iowa and is majoring in Kinesiology and Health. Once she graduates from ISU, Leah will attend graduate school and pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She enjoys lifting, reading, playing piano, and listening to Taylor Swift in her free time. Leah loves Exercise is Medicine because she is passionate about the importance of exercise and how it positively impacts people. She also appreciate how this club creates a sense of community at Iowa State and challenges individuals to prioritize their wellness at young ages.

Julianna Kuzniar: Media Relations Chair

Julianna is from Hanover, Illinois and is majoring in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science option.  After graduating ISU she plans to get her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology. In her free time, she loves to weight lift, going for walks/runs, thrift, take photos on her film camera, and spend time with loved ones! Julianna loves being a part of EIM because she believes exercise can have a large impact on multiple dimensions of your life that go far beyond the physical benefits. Being a part of this club has allowed her to share her passion for movement with both the Iowa State and Ames community, all while building leadership skills!

Teresa Winkelmann: Marketing Chair

Teresa is from Rockford, IL and is majoring in Kinesiology with the option of Exercise Science.  After graduation she hopes to become a personal trainer. Her ultimate aspiration is to own her own gym down the road. For fun Teresa likes to watch Netflix, go to the beach, play volleyball and go shopping!  She loves being a part of EIM because of the people she has met throughout the years and the connections that have come out of it.
