Description
The purpose of this organization is to facilitate open discussion about complex worldly topics and encourage understanding between individuals with differing opinions. We want to create a positive environment where people can effectively communicate their views and listen to others. The goal here isn't to convince but to understand. With the polarization that's so prevalent in our country, and even the world, it's important that we can work to overcome our differences. We encourage students from all majors to join us and offer their views on a variety of topics such as abortion, global warming, and even artificial intelligence.

| Membership Qualifications |
People will be classified as members when they have attended at least 3 meetings. Membership status allows one to vote for discussion topics and participate in elections. Otherwise, anyone may participate fully in discussions. |

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
| On average, meetings begin with about 5 minutes of club business. After that, the discussion is opened by everyone briefly sharing their stance on the topic being discussed. Then, depending on the size of the group, the discussion flows relatively freely and the president facilitates conversation as needed. If you're concerned that you'll be forced to talk or won't get a chance to speak, everyone gets a chance to speak if they choose to, and is under no obligation to share if they have no desire to. We always make sure the discussion environment is respectful and open to all views. |
