Description
The purpose of the Algorithmic Trading Club (ATC) at Iowa State University is to provide a collaborative environment where students can explore, develop, and apply algorithmic trading strategies. The club aims to:
1. Foster an understanding of algorithmic trading concepts, financial markets, and quantitative methods.
2. Offer hands-on opportunities for members to develop trading algorithms and conduct simulated trading activities.
3. Facilitate learning through workshops, guest lectures, and collaborative projects.
4. Promote ethical practices in algorithmic trading and compliance with relevant regulations.
5. Build a community of like-minded individuals interested in financial technology, data analytics, and trading systems.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
| Meet from 6:00 to 7:00PM on Mondays, location TBD.
Meetings: 10 min discussion, 25 min Financial Concepts, 25 min Coding & Software.
Projects: Two major quant projects per semester with designated team leaders.
Trading Competition: Week-long $1M Investopedia challenge; top 3 teams win $100, $75, $50.
Networking Event: Annual downtown Des Moines event with Iowa Quants.
Virtual Meetings: Regular discussions with quants across the state.
Field Trip: Visit to a quant finance firm.
Competitions: Travel to collegiate quant tournaments.
