Midwest Symposium

The Midwest Symposium is a wonderful opportunity for students seeking a career in veterinary medicine.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend various lectures and hands-on wet labs conducted by experienced veterinary professionals. Tours of the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine will also be offered. The Symposium is held every even-numbered year.

NICU

We provide volunteer opportunities to gain clinical skills and experience with critical foals and mares in the ICU. Volunteering will take place at the ISU Equine Hospital during the spring semester.

Paws for a Cause 5K

The chairs of this committee communicate with Safe Paws in Boone, Iowa to organize one yearly fundraising 5K! Safe Paws is a non-profit animal rescue dedicated to finding safe, permanent homes for animals who are at risk to be euthanized.

Retrieving Freedom

Throughout the year, this committee organizes events in support of the Retretrieving Freedom Incorporation. These efforts include monthly collections of cans from a designated white box next to Lush Auditorium in Kildee Hall and organizing fundraisers at nearby food establishments, with all funds raised being donated to Retrieving Freedom. As part of our commitment to raising awareness for this organization, we invite a representative from Retrieving Freedom to join us once a year to share insights into their mission.

APVMA

The APVMA co-chairs organize and plan the annual trip to APVMA symposium. We help to support PVC members to attend this trip through fundraising opportunities, including Pizza Ranch Give-Back Night, Holiday Pet Pictures, the T-shirt fundraiser, etc.
